Kitchen Remodeling

Demolition and Infrastructure

This stage involves stripping the kitchen down and preparing the space for the new installations.

  • Protect the rest of the house with plastic barriers and cover adjacent flooring to contain dust and debris.

  • Demolition (The Tear-Out):

    • Remove all old cabinets, appliances, countertops, sinks, and old wall/floor coverings.

    • If the design requires it, demolish internal walls to change the floor plan.

  • Plumbing: Install new water supply lines and drains for the sink and dishwasher according to the new layout.

  • Electrical and Gas: Run new wiring for outlets, lighting, and, if applicable, the gas line for the range.

  • Walls and Windows:

    • Install or relocate new windows/doors.

    • Cover the walls with drywall (often mold/moisture-resistant in kitchen areas).

Finishes Installation

This phase requires precision to ensure all custom-ordered elements fit perfectly.

  • Flooring:

    • Install the new kitchen floor (tile, wood, vinyl, etc.).

  • Cabinet Assembly:

    • Install the base cabinets (lower) and the wall cabinets (upper) according to the design plan.

  • Countertop Templating:

  • Wall Finishes:

    • The ceiling and walls are painted.

    • The backsplash tile is installed (this is usually done only after the countertop has been measured to ensure a clean fit).

    • Countertop and Sink Installation

    • The countertops are installed, and the sink is secured.
